Los Angeles Lakers vs Washington Wizards Live

As a team, the Wizards shot just 42 percent from the field and nine of 30 from the 3-point line as they hung with the Heat in a close contest until the fourth quarter where Dwyane Wade scored 11 of his 20 points to help the Heat steal the game late. With the tough loss, Washington fell to 30-44 overall and 22-16 at home.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers have been in a serious slump as they’ve lost 10 of their last 12 games, but they will be breathing a little sigh of relief after snapping a five-game skid with a hard-fought 111-106 home win over the Kings on Sunday. LeBron James led the team with a triple-double of 29 points with 11 rebounds and 11 assists, Kyle Kumza got hot in the third quarter to finish with 29 points of his own while JaVale McGee chipped in with 17 points, 14 rebounds and five blocks. As a team, the Lakers shot 45 percent from the field and 13 of 40 from the 3-point line as they gained separation with 39 points in the third quarter before holding off a late rally from the Kings behind some clutch free throws from James. With the much-needed win, Los Angeles improved to 32-41 overall and 19-17 at home. How did we get here? Seriously, how did we get here?

If I had told you at the start of the season that the Wizards would have a chance to finish with a better record than the Lakers, would you have assumed it was a good thing or a bad thing? Sure, the Lakers had some variability with all their new acquisitions, but most assumed they would at least be a playoff team with LeBron James in the fold. Meanwhile, the Wizards were a playoff mainstay that seemed to be a sure bet for another trip in the shallow Eastern Conference. You probably could have found just as many who thought the Wizards outplaying the Lakers would be a great thing for Washington rather than a bad thing for Los Angeles.

Instead, it turns out things have gone poorly for both sides. The Lakers have been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention and the Wizards could be out by the end of the week, even though both teams made big swings during the season to add talent for the stretch run. Trevor Ariza couldn’t save Washington’s defense, especially after John Wall went down for the season, and Los Angeles couldn’t swing a deal for Anthony Davis, despite offering everything that wasn’t tied down.

On Tuesday night, we’ll get to see which team will respond better now that neither team has anything left to play for this season. Things haven’t gone well for either side in recent weeks. They’ve both lost five of their last six going into this game. Where can I watch on TV? FuboTV (Free Trial), TNT, TSN and NBA League Pass
